THE FORMATION OF GENERAL PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES OF STUDENTS OF A PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY IS APPLICABLE TO FINANCIAL LITERACY

Abstract. The relevance of the topic of the article is due to the need to form financial literacy of students of educational institutions, including students of pedagogical universities, teachers of higher and general education, teachers of the system of training and retraining (advanced training). This problem has been developing since 2017 and is an integral element of the mechanism for the development of financial literacy in Russia. Educational institutions include the study of financial literacy in the educational process at both the general and higher education levels. The purpose of the work is to find ways to form the competencies necessary for the formation of financial literacy of students of pedagogical universities. The following pedagogical conditions can be distinguished: the organization of financial literacy training for students, the development of a program that allows them to master the necessary competencies, skills that are required for the future professional activity of a teacher of a secondary school, a teacher of secondary vocational education institutions. These specialists need not only to have financial literacy, but also to master the methodology of teaching it in educational institutions. The developed model for the formation of competencies necessary for future teachers to carry out educational activities includes elements of the novelty of the research. Based on the study and generalization of various sources of information, observation, comparative analysis, the concept and role of financial literacy of students are analyzed in the work, ways of forming general professional and professional competencies in pedagogical universities of the country are considered. A program for the formation of general professional competencies has been developed using the example of Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University. The developed program can be applied in educational institutions of the higher education system in order to improve the quality of student training.
