Abstract. The article deals with the problems of economic security of agricultural production cooperatives functioning in special conditions that prevent their full participation in intersectoral competition. It was found that there is no definition in the modern scientific literature, so the definition of this concept was given. Starting from the above definition of the economic security of an agricultural production cooperative, the authors proposed a conceptual model of the economic security of an agricultural production cooperative. Taking into account the factors characteristic of the agricultural industry, threats to the economic security of agricultural production cooperatives have been identified. In accordance with the applied research methodology based on the systematization and logical analysis of scientific publications, provisions and requirements of legislative and methodological documents, it is concluded that it is necessary to assess threats to the economic security of an agricultural cooperative, which is currently not given sufficient attention by the management of economic entities. For this purpose, a general scheme is proposed for assessing threats to the economic security of an agricultural production cooperative with the allocation of the necessary stages. In order to counter threats to the economic security of an agricultural production cooperative, it is proposed to create an economic security service, and the main stages of creating an effective security service are highlighted. The analysis carried out by the authors showed that at present there is a need for measures to prevent threats to the economic security of an agricultural cooperative. To prevent a complex of threats to economic security, sectors are identified and a description of the risks specific to each sector is given. The generalization of the results confirmed the need to identify procedures for eliminating threats to the agricultural production cooperative for each sector of economic security. The research material has theoretical and practical value in the formation of a system for countering threats to the economic security of an agricultural production cooperative.
