Abstract. This article comprehends some facets of the evolution of the financial sphere in the context of digitalization, transforming the social space into a technosocial one. In particular, the opinions of researchers on the advantages and disadvantages, risks of making electronic payments are given. Based on the results of an empirical study, various aspects of digital transactions in the financial sector are analyzed. It is shown that the situation of social restrictions stimulated the use of electronic payments on a daily basis, including through mobile phones, smartphones, computers, social networks and messengers. It is recorded that women of working age with higher education are most actively using electronic payments. There is a significant increase in purchases in online stores, and not so significant, but also an increase in the cost of educational and entertainment content. Moreover, the increase in spending on entertainment content is more significant than on educational content. This indicates that a significant part of respondents show an initial level of digital financial literacy – the level of a beginner. This article certainly does not exhaust the full depth of the problem of the possibilities and risks of using electronic payments in modern society. Therefore, the prospects for further research on this topic may be related to observations of changes in socio-economic and socio-psychological factors of the evolution of the financial sphere in the conditions of the formation of the digital economy and digitalization. In particular, it is necessary to comprehend the means of stimulating the use of public service sites by the population.
