Abstract. The article is devoted to the problem of psychological and pedagogical prevention of gambling addiction of younger schoolchildren, the analysis of scientific and pedagogical literature on the problem under study. In the modern world, people have a new form of activity, and with it a new addiction associated with computer games. The emergence of a large number of educational programs contribute to the child’s understanding of the need for a computer in a person’s daily life, and at the same time, at an early age, this has become the reason for the addictive behavior of most children. Experiencing a difficult period of transition from a game form of activity to educational and cognitive activity, as a determining factor in the stability of the psychophysiological development of children of primary school age, children are faced with changing, conflicting values and priorities, experiencing a new stage of socialization, experiencing difficulties in the process of interpersonal relationships as with a teacher, as well as with classmates. They find a way out mainly in the virtual space, in computer games, in interaction with fictitious friends, etc. As a result of such immersion in a virtual non-existent world, where the child feels more comfortable and free, younger students gradually develop computer addiction, they become more withdrawn, aggressive, unassembled and mentally unbalanced. It should be added to all this that gambling addiction leads to a sedentary lifestyle, which, in addition to worsening the mental state of children, leads to a decrease in their motor activity, a violation of the physical and somatic health of younger students. Many children already at primary school age are not interested in ordinary toys, traditional outdoor games, it is more important for them to sit down at the computer as soon as possible and get into the virtual world.

Keywords: computer addiction, addictive behavior, primary school age, gambling addiction, prevention of gambling addiction.
