Abstract. The main study is aimed at confirming the hypothesis that the level of attitude of school students to career guidance activities affects the variable possibilities of their institutionalization in rating higher education institutions. Opportunities in this work are considered through the prism of economic behavior, which consists of event stages: the choice of the necessary contacts, the choice of the necessary actions, the establishment of interaction, for the subsequent institutionalization of relations, and the last event is inclusion in a particular social student group. Methodology. The information array of the already conducted sociological research of the corresponding thematic orientation was taken as a basis: “The image of the university, college in the representations of high school students, parents, teachers”. The semantics of the questions were correlated with the event stages of economic behavior, an algorithm was developed that determines the number of event stages per student. Outcomes. First. A new formulation of the concept of “economic behavior” was proposed. Second. Regression equations with a high correlation coefficient were obtained between indicators characterizing the level of attitude to vocational guidance activities carried out at school and quantitative characteristics of contacts, actions, interactions, institutionalization and social groups per student. Similar dependencies were obtained for several other factors, but they were not included in the proposed article due to the large volume of results. Findings. The results of the study showed a high relationship between career guidance activities and socialization of behavior at the event stages of economic behavior. Equations were obtained between the initial stage of the path to higher education – “contacts”, and the final stage – “students as a social group”, which showed their high level of interconnection. For each age group of students, there should be a classification of contacts, actions, interactions, institutionalization of relations, which, with minimal costs for economic behavior, will allow you to achieve your goal.

Keywords: school, pupils, applicants, students, career guidance activities, economic behavior, contacts, actions, interactions, institutionalization, social group, correlation coefficient, regression equations.
