Abstract. The article deals with issues related to the formation of secondary school students’ functional literacy using integrated gamified tasks, which reflect the connection of mathematics with other subject areas. The relevance of this study is due to the modern requirements of the standard for the results of mastering the basic educational program. One of such requirements is the formation of ideas about mathematics as a part of world culture and about the place of mathematics in modern civilization, about ways of describing real-world phenomena in mathematical language, which creates the need to focus mathematics education on meta-subject results, interdisciplinary integration, practice-oriented and personally meaningful learning. The purpose of this study is to create an author’s approach to the formation of functional literacy. The authors analyze the results of scientific research on this topic conducted by modern scientists and identify existing approaches. They made the conclusion that at the present stage we need new approaches to the organization of activities for the formation of functional literacy, the need to strengthen the integration of educational areas and taking into account the needs of modern schoolchildren. Such an approach can be the use of integrated tasks in a gamified form when teaching mathematics at school. With the help of such methods as observation, analysis, modeling, experiment, the authors have created a game for schoolchildren. The authors analyze the tasks of this game as the individual components formation of functional literacy. They draw the conclusions, give some recommendations and consider the prospects.

Keywords: gamification, integration, functional literacy, integrated gamified task, teaching mathematics, meta-subject results.
