Abstract. The problem of educating the modern generation by actual means, methods and techniques occupies an important place in the system of any educational institution. Taking into account such “difficult places” when organizing the educational process by means of virtual technologies (including a virtual museum) will allow students to adapt to the requirements of the modern information world, successfully adjust the roadmap for the development of students. The purpose of the study is to present the main features of the virtual museum in the process of education in the school educational environment. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the identification of significant positive directions of using the funds of virtual museums in the implementation of the educational function due to the role of teachers, educational workers, parents, as well as contact with other students. Despite all the difficulties and difficulties in using the possibilities of virtual museums of various types, the positive aspects are much greater: the potential for using both group forms of work and individual development trajectories, inclusion in the global context of history and focus on regional components, communication with parents and teachers on the principle of mentoring and continuity of continuity – all this is combined in one concept of “virtual museum”.
