Abstract. The article deals with the actual problems of practical application of the acquired knowledge, skills and abilities in the training of engineering personnel in accordance with the requirements of professional standards in modern economic, educational and socio-cultural realities. The authors argumentatively position the mandatory interdependence of educational and professional standards, based on the modern professional and educational order, as well as the situation on the labor market. According to the authors, in the process of professional training of an engineer, it is necessary to take into account one of the key positions of the relevant professional standards: to form not only a competent specialist who can apply their knowledge in practice, but also a Manager, a Manager who can make responsible decisions.
