Abstract. Modern society is at the stage of transition from traditional methods of obtaining knowledge. The next stage is the digitalization of society through the digitalization of education. Today, digitalization is the call of the era. Information technologies are developing at an extraordinary speed, and the main challenge for states is to have a sufficient number of competent specialists and produce new specialists who can keep up with the development of technology. This article provided a brief overview of technological solutions in the field of education and then listed the main advantages and disadvantages of information and communication technologies in the educational environment. The conclusion summarizes the role of technology in modern education.
