Resume: The study is devoted to the issues of physical education of military personnel represented in military pedagogy. Physical training is used as a means of developing and improving the physical and psychological qualities of military personnel, promoting health, which, taken together, is an important factor in ensuring the quality of their professional performance of professional actions, both in peacetime and in wartime. The high intensity of hostilities leads to a shortage of time. Saving time in the implementation of combat techniques is one of the indicators of combat mastery, and it is possible only on the basis of the optimal socio-psychological and physical fitness of a military man. Thus, physical training is an important component – the foundation of special, professional and applied training of military specialists, but with the constant development of military science and the improvement of military equipment, more and more new military specialties appear, which necessitates significant changes in the organization of physical training in the direction of increasing it special professional and applied orientation. The authors conclude that physical training is an important factor in enhancing the combat training of the Russian military.

Keywords: combat readiness, physical training, physical exercises and sports, physical qualities, military personnel, military schools, moral-volitional and psychological qualities.
