Abstract. The article shows the relevance of studying the problems of modern youth in order to form leadership qualities in extracurricular activities in the student community. The purpose of the article is to determine the pedagogical aspects of the formation of leadership qualities of youth in extracurricular activities. One of the tasks associated with the personal growth of university students is to assist them in supporting their initiative in independently solving emerging problems. The faculty of the university, full-time workers of the trade union organization of students, deputy deans for educational work, are experts in how to help students discover their own capabilities, how to become more effective in terms of personal growth, self-determination and the realization of their potential. The author comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to intensify this area of educational work at the university — building such a life activity that allows each student to set and implement important personal goals. Each internal achievement and increase in his well-being, comes at the expense of his personal labor. It is important to remember in the work that a strict sequence of stages, a system of approaches and techniques are used so that each student can understand all the rules and norms of communication and interaction, both in the system of university education and beyond. The student’s built dialogue with experienced mentors suggests that they study the problem under study as much as possible, consider it from all sides and make the right choice.

Keywords: students, student environment, student, extracurricular activities, leadership, leadership qualities.
