ETHNIC SOCIALIZATION OF PRESCHOOL CHILDREN

 Abstract. The article reveals the importance of socialization in the education of children of preschool age. The place and role of the ethnic socialization of children of preschool age are analyzed. The basic research concepts are characterized: ethnos, socialization, ethnic socialization, family. The theoretical and practical aspects of the formation of ethnic socialization of children of preschool age are presented. The authors stand on the position, considering that the primary institutions of socialization in the preschool years are the family and the preschool educational institutions, this places upon them the high responsibility for the result of the socialization of the younger generation. Modern multicultural education in preschool age takes a very important role among all existing teaching and educational programs, since it allows not only to form the right attitude to ethno-cultural reality in children, but also develops children’s interest in other cultures and a desire to learn them. Most importantly, multicultural education and ethnic socialization make it possible to lay the foundation of national and civic consciousness in the consciousness of children of preschool age.
