Abstract. The relevance of the problem under study is due to the real situation that is characteristic of modern Russia, concerning the level of formation of the social and civic positions of student youth. The purpose of the article is to reveal the features of education with a focus on digital technologies, with the” growing ” of the subject in the digital environment. The leading approach to the study of this problem was the axiological approach, which serves as the methodological basis for the study of the problem of educating Russian youth, which allowed us to systematically and comprehensively present the current situation in society, identify the positive and negative consequences of digital technologies, reveal the position of the authors on its solution, present the results of research of students of Russian universities, show the importance of value orientations in the education of future teachers. The main results of the study showed that new forms and methods of working with young people are needed. The distortion of values, the manifestation of low culture, the orientation to pragmatism, the increase in cruelty, indifference, are reflected in the youth environment like a mirror. The results of the study show the need to develop a new concept of education, based on the formation of civic consciousness of the younger generation on the meanings and values of national culture. The presented materials demonstrate theoretical significance for further research, practical value for the development of goals, provisions and content of various state and public projects for the education of modern youth.
