Abstract.  The article presents the results of the study concerning the need to form a culture of interethnic communication among specialists of the customs service of Russia. The author believes that the formation of a culture of interethnic communication among future customs specialists is an important socio-pedagogical direction, which, provided that it is organically integrated into the educational process of higher education, will allow: a) to solve the educational tasks of their professional training at a higher quality level; b) graduates to solve professional tasks at a high level of efficiency, to help improve the status of the country as a world power. The importance and significance of the culture of interethnic communication of customs specialists in their professional activities is shown; the analysis of scientific literature on the research problem is demonstrated; a number of contradictions were identified that determine the research problem, the essence of which lies in the need to develop theoretical, methodological and technological foundations for the formation of a culture of interethnic communication among customs specialists in the conditions of their study at a university; a model for the formation of a culture of interethnic communication in the professional training of customs specialists has been developed as a system of theoretical provisions describing a set of techniques and methods for organizing processes, determining the requirements for training results, assessing individual educational achievements, and a constructively developed technology for its implementation has been proposed; identified and substantiated promising directions for improving the process of forming a culture of interethnic communication of customs specialists in the process of their professional training.
