Abstract. The transition of Russian society to a fundamentally new socio-economic model of life inevitably entailed profound modifications in all social structures. In this regard, an important role is played by studies of the specifics of the transformation processes that occur in the youth environment, as one of the main socially significant structures of society. At the stage of transition to market relations, young people undergo significant changes in their culture, views, values, etc. As a result of these circumstances, anomie and frustration of social attitudes and moods arise in the youth environment, which often transforms into deviant behavior. And since youth, by their socio-historical nature, constitutes the future of society, these tendencies in the youth environment must be minimized by activating the social and pedagogical support of work with youth. It is in the youth environment that the type of citizen is formed that will prevail and develop in the future. And in this sense, the structure and content of social and pedagogical support of work with young people will largely determine the nature of the viability of the whole society. All of the above circumstances predetermined the purpose of this article – to substantiate the urgency of the problem of social and pedagogical support of work with youth; describe the functioning of the resources (using the example of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania) involved in improving the process of social work with young people, among which are: personal, institutional, subcultural, social and environmental.
