Abstract. The main issue of the study is the analysis and systematization of economic and political aspects that initiate conflict situations. The analysis of conflict situations, in our case, allowed us to choose the following factors as the main ones: the price of the conflict issue for the electorate; the level of required transformations/changes; the mass media coverage of the conflict; the government’s readiness to fulfill the requirements; resources to support the demands of the conflicting; the volume of support for the demands of the population and political parties.
The aim of the study was to identify the relationship between the factors causing conflict situations and indicators of the level of conflict. Also, the aim of the study was to build a simulation model of the conflict situation and modeling strategies to strengthen or reduce it.
Results. Methods of computational mathematics in the software environment Ex-cel built a simulation model of a conflict situation, which allows by changing the arguments included in the model situationally create a conflict of interest or a conflict of values. A graphic information about the level of the conflict situation and the possibility of its resolution in the liberal, socialist or authoritarian paradigm is also given.
Conclusions: the proposed simulation model allows to play different strategies for the development of a conflict situation. The simulation results showed that conflict situations are better solved in the authoritarian-conservative paradigm.
