Annotation. The article discusses the role and importance of the physical education of servicemen as an integral part of the whole educational process in a military college. It is noted that physical education is the most important type of education for future officers, which influences the entire length of their military service in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The authors stand on the position expressed in the fact that the upbringing impact of physical culture and sports activates and directs the all-round development of a person’s personality, confirms the organization of his healthy lifestyle, influences the process of forming a personal need for physical and moral improvement. The conducted in-depth analysis of the educational process in physical culture in a military university allowed the authors to formulate the eight basic requirements that contribute to its development and improvement. The effectiveness of the training of cadets at a military college will depend on their systematic and comprehensive accounting in the activities of the whole teaching staff, each teacher and specialist. And also from purposeful and systematic activities to enhance and stimulate the motives of future officers to join a healthy lifestyle, awareness of the importance of health (physical, mental, social, spiritual and moral) for the effective implementation of daily official tasks.
